After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Russel Boyce managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paul Colling made a kick off. The referee gave Allandale a penalty, 59 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Corbett Andrews, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brookdale's Rob Dowling. 2-1. Paul Colling blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bryan Lyle having to make a save. In the 68th match minute, Brookdale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernie Sobczak to maneuver through the defense. Bryan Lyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Colling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Allandale booed when Brookdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Colling didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bernie Sobczak was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 99 minutes had been played. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brookdale eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
