The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Baxter Cochrane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Youanmite booed when Trianbil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brant Pavkovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 minutes of play, Youanmite's Baxter Cochrane made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duke Virgin was left in no man's land by his defense there! 19 minutes into the match, Youanmite's goal looked a bit too open when Buchanan Delahide came free, but Fabian Royans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Buchanan Delahide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baxter Cochrane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Duke Virgin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bryden Spinder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Virgin having to interfere. Buchanan Delahide succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Baxter Cochrane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Duke Virgin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duke Virgin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryden Spinder, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the game, Baxter Cochrane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Duke Virgin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Youanmite fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Youanmite's Baxter Cochrane looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Youanmite were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Duke Virgin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baxter Cochrane in the 54th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Baxter Cochrane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duke Virgin. Trianbil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baxter Cochrane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 68thth minute of the game Alfred Lambourne who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trianbil's Duke Virgin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Remy Beverly hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Baxter Cochrane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duke Virgin having to interfere. Lauder Christian was slow to take the kick. During this time Youanmite's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Youanmite's Lauder Christian to fire away a dangerous shot which Duke Virgin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 94th match minute, Youanmite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Mclatchey to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Trianbil's zone, Carlton Boylin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duke Virgin came out of the goal and Carlton Boylin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Youanmite could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Trianbil throughout the match.
