In the 7th minute, Ace Freeman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michael Rear was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vikings's Milton Barclay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Haslett in the 12th minute of play. Milton Barclay was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Alvin Duncan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alvin Duncan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. The supporters of Vikings booed when Pata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvin Duncan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murdock Groves kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Murdock Groves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Milton Barclay came out and tried to block the shot, but Murdock Groves slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 36th minute. If Jeffers Spurr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeffers Spurr to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierre Haslett in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Milton Barclay saved Vikings from getting behind. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Milton Barclay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 87thth minute of the game Pierre Haslett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vikings's Milton Barclay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Milton Barclay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quade Macumber, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Pata's Michael Rear played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffers Spurr in the 95th minute of play.
