The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arty Markwell was the one to do the kick off. In the 62nd minute Howard Adamson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Lonergan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arty Markwell might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaffery Wakefield. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arty Markwell ran back to his position shaking his head. Jaffery Wakefield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arty Markwell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. As Roma's attentive Howard Adamson managed to snatch the ball when Tony Allen made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. As Roma's Howard Adamson got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Howard Adamson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Howard Adamson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
