The Chowerup fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 7th match minute, Struan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bleyd Argoud to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 8 minutes, Brad Nolan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chowerup's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brad Nolan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cod Dobbing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zack Mcmahon's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Irwin Blattman reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Steve Stanton. The goal made the score 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Struan's Irwin Blattman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Steve Stanton. That made the score 2-1 after 21 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bud Krause got free with Steve Stanton in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cod Dobbing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brad Nolan in the 26th minute of the match. Steve Stanton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irwin Blattman in the 28th minute of play. A hard shot 30 in the game by Bud Krause from a close distance when the talented Steve Stanton managed to make a qualified save. Chowerup's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Bud Krause got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Struan booed when Chowerup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randle Yard didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Irwin Blattman was the one to do the kick off. Irwin Blattman might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steve Stanton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Irwin Blattman ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the game, Struan's Bud Krause nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steve Stanton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 60 minutes into the match, Irwin Blattman notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Chowerup's Steve Stanton. Steve Stanton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chowerup's Brad Nolan got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Irwin Blattman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Stanton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brooks Askew hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Irwin Blattman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steve Stanton was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Struan's Duke Mcwilliam got a free kick in the 95th minute. A hard shot by Andre Fraser from long distance, 96 minutes into the match, got Cod Dobbing's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chowerup players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Struan.
