Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Aramara's Hank Boylin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Kununurra booed when Aramara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dallas Turnbull didn't get a good kick on the ball. Myles Johnston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Travers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard and well directed shot from Carleton Kennewell led 12 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Kununurra's Bernie Ryan became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-1. Myles Johnston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Travers in the 16th minute of the match. Myles Johnston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Travers, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Cliff Pound fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernie Ryan having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Todd Travers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kununurra's supporters rose to their feet, but Todd Travers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Myles Johnston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benard Tucknott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Myles Johnston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalton Trevena was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 41st minute. Kununurra's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Benard Tucknott came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Kununurra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benard Tucknott couldn't finish the play. After 42 minutes, Edmundson Pustak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aramara and the Kununurra players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Aramara's Edmundson Pustak got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Todd Travers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benard Tucknott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Todd Travers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Todd Travers in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Myles Johnston prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benard Tucknott in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Myles Johnston saved Aramara from getting behind. When Todd Travers came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Kununurra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Todd Travers couldn't finish the play. Myles Johnston showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todd Travers in the 76th minute of the match. Benard Tucknott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todd Travers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Kununurra booed when Aramara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Browne Wilde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Myles Johnston stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Todd Travers's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute Todd Travers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Myles Johnston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Aramara's Edmundson Pustak got a free kick in the 96th minute. Kununurra walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
