Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Antony Mcmahon started the match with the kick off. The audience was convinced that Antony Mcmahon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niles Egel was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After 9 minutes Kurrajong's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bill Heberle who took care of the corner kick. South Hobart FC's Bill Heberle was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Niles Egel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cliff Black hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Bill Heberle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kurrajong's Niles Egel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antony Mcmahon in the 14th minute of play. Niles Egel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antony Mcmahon's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Antony Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niles Egel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antony Mcmahon, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Bradley Worrall hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. A collision led to South Hobart FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Kale Pavkovic hit a great ball. Niles Egel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Heberle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antony Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Antony Mcmahon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The South Hobart FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antony Mcmahon in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niles Egel saved Kurrajong from getting behind. If Bill Heberle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half South Hobart FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bruce Pukallus made the kick off in the second half. Antony Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bill Heberle's late challenge caught a Kurrajong's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bill Heberle helped the player get up and apologised. Bill Heberle hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roger Flesfadar during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as South Hobart FC's Berny Waterland slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Niles Egel. That made the score 0-3 after 67 minutes of play. 73 minutes into the match, South Hobart FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Barugh came free, but Kenneth Yard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antony Mcmahon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niles Egel having to interfere. Bradley Worrall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute of the match, Bill Heberle tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Niles Egel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bill Heberle took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niles Egel. Niles Egel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. A collision led to Kurrajong getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Cullen Mcneven hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antony Mcmahon got free with Niles Egel in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bill Heberle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Niles Egel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kyle Moon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
