Milang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gilgering the free kick. Brian Smoothy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cliff Raison, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Joshua Waters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 15 minutes into the match, Milang's Stephan Deeth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Neale Belford narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Milang's Joshua Waters slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Neale Belford. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Milang's Marco Riley got a free kick in the 19th minute. Cliff Raison took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brian Smoothy. Milang's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Gilgering getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Boyd Smalley hit a great ball. With a little luck, Gilgering's Neale Belford got control of the ball when Stephan Deeth tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Gilgering getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Malcolm Delbridge hit a great ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Stephan Deeth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephan Deeth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stephan Deeth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Neale Belford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neale Belford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Waters in the 36th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephan Deeth during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Milang's Stephan Deeth got a free kick in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Milang's zone, Bern Sparrow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Smoothy came out of the goal and Bern Sparrow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joshua Waters in the 42nd minute of play forced Gilgering's goalkeeper Neale Belford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brian Smoothy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bern Sparrow in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boyd Smalley was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gilgering's zone, Joshua Waters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Neale Belford came out of the goal and Joshua Waters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joshua Waters in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Neale Belford saved Gilgering from getting behind. When Barnes Knaack fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gilgering's protests and gave Barnes Knaack a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Barnes Knaack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 57th minute, Bern Sparrow fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 59 minutes into the match, Gilgering's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Deeth came free, but Neale Belford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christopher Huff during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gilgering's Christopher Huff got a free kick in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the match, Gilgering's goal looked a bit too open when Joshua Waters came free, but Neale Belford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joshua Waters in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neale Belford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 76th minute Joshua Waters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neale Belford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Boyd Smalley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stephan Deeth in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neale Belford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stephan Deeth might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Neale Belford. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stephan Deeth ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Milang's Patrick Butterworth got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Bern Sparrow could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Brian Smoothy made a huge save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Milang fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gilgering had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
