In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Buckenbowra's goalkeeper Pete Staggard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Buckenbowra's Pete Staggard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Buckenbowra from getting a goal against them. When Barney Bielski fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ninda's protests and gave Barney Bielski a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Ninda got a freekick which was hit by Barney Bielski. After having played for 20 minutes, Ethan Sylvester managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ninda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ethan Sylvester was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Boston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ninda's Nelson Hanslow got a free kick in the 24th minute. Danny Solomon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Bruce Castray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 minutes, Barry Connell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buckenbowra and the Ninda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Buckenbowra:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ninda:s goal. In the 30th minute, the referee gave Ninda a penalty. Nelson Hanslow looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Pete Staggard. Pete Staggard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Boston in the 34th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Boston in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pete Staggard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Ethan Sylvester might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pete Staggard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ethan Sylvester ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 59th match minute, Buckenbowra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearce Russell to maneuver through the defense. Bob Hayward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes Ninda got a freekick which was hit by Rick Wayland. The supporters of Buckenbowra booed when Ninda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barney Bielski didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ethan Sylvester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Ethan Sylvester's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pete Staggard was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Danny Solomon was extremely unlucky when he, in the 76th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Pete Staggard didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from George Boston went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If George Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th match minute, Buckenbowra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Solomon to maneuver through the defense. Nelson Hanslow shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 92nd match minute, Buckenbowra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Hayward to maneuver through the defense.
