Alexander Norton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bryce Wood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Earl Shirdon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexander Norton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Bryce Wood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Earl Shirdon struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. In the 35th minute Alexander Norton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryce Wood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Earl Shirdon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Bryce Wood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bryce Wood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Norton in the 40th minute of the match. Monkeyjacket's Bryce Wood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Earl Shirdon in the 41st minute of play. Bryce Wood didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Earl Shirdon went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 49 minutes into the match, Monkeyjacket's goal looked a bit too open when Earl Shirdon came free, but Bryce Wood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The supporters of Tyabb booed when Monkeyjacket was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Earnest Boyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brendon Coote's late challenge caught a Monkeyjacket's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brendon Coote helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd minute, Alexander Norton made a precise shot to the right of Bryce Wood. Monkeyjacket's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Bryce Wood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earl Shirdon, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Alexander Norton ran back to his position shaking his head. After 85 played minutes Monkeyjacket got a freekick which was hit by Carlton Blagburn. Bryce Wood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyd Kuch, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Earl Shirdon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 89 minutes into the game, Tyabb's Alexander Norton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bryce Wood made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Alexander Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexander Norton in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bryce Wood, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
