The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Grieve during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lyrup getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Lucas Grieve hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Raymond Ramsay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregory Hollis was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Gregory Quinane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darin Lyle having to interfere. Lyrup's Gregory Hollis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Lyrup from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute Diogo Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Hollis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raymond Ramsays short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Gregory Hollis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lucas Grieve hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute Mustard Tigers were awarded a corner. Roger Bacon went to the cornerflag to take it. Gregory Quinane took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darin Lyle. Darin Lyle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Darin Lyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donovan Atterton, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Lyrup's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Mendes came free, but Gregory Hollis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Lucas Grieve took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Darin Lyle to make any attempt to save it. 56 minutes into the game, Gregory Quinane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Darin Lyle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roger Bacon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gregory Hollis. Lyrup's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gregory Quinane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Darin Lyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Diogo Mendes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregory Hollis was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 74thth minute of the game Raymond Ramsay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lyrup's Gregory Hollis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Lucas Grieve took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Darin Lyle to make any attempt to save it. Donovan Atterton took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darin Lyle. Darin Lyle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 87thth minute of the game Diogo Mendes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lyrup's Gregory Hollis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lyrup's Gregory Hollis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raymond Ramsay in the 90th minute of play. Gregory Quinane could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Darin Lyle made a huge save. The Lyrup supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lyrup would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
