But to his dismay, Phillip Peterson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After 40 played minutes, Rannes's Darin Pike shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Léopold Georget came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rannes reached it. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Duffield Barugh took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Jaffery Cusbert to make any attempt to save it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

After 53 minutes, Rex Gilding mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fort Kent FC and the Rannes players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Fort Kent FC's Léopold Georget got control of the ball when Lawrance Vickery tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 59th minute Connor Baptiste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léopold Georget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Eden Potter took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Léopold Georget to make any attempt to save it. After some careless play in the Rannes defense, Calvin Kesi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaffery Cusbert. The Rannes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaffery Cusbert should have stopped the shot. 74 minutes into the match, Lawrance Vickery had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Léopold Georget. Fort Kent FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lawrance Vickery was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. 79 minutes into the match, Fort Kent FC's Duffield Barugh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaffery Cusbert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Duffield Barugh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Léopold Georget made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lawrance Vickery in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Peterson in the 90th minute of play forced Fort Kent FC's goalkeeper Léopold Georget to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
