Jenkins Bailey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Aron Vickery made a huge save. Burt Copelin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Aron Vickery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aron Vickery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Burt Copelin in the 8th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Laang's goal looked a bit too open when Burt Copelin came free, but Aron Vickery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Darell Tauschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason Giles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darell Tauschke in the 19th minute of play. If Burt Copelin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Currie's goal looked a bit too open when Darell Tauschke came free, but Jason Giles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Laang booed when Currie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Handley Tearle didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Laang's goal looked a bit too open when Burt Copelin came free, but Aron Vickery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Burt Copelin came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Currie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Burt Copelin couldn't finish the play. If Jenkins Bailey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Darell Tauschke was the one to do the kick off. Aron Vickery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burt Copelin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darell Tauschke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Giles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Potter Blagburn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Potter Blagburn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Laang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregg Whittington to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Broderick Stevens sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Laang's Aron Vickery didn't even have to move. After 72 played minutes Currie got a freekick which was hit by Crawford Notley. If Jenkins Bailey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Currie fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jenkins Bailey in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aron Vickery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aron Vickery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Burt Copelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Jenkins Bailey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 minutes, Bremen Lowes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laang and the Currie players grew even worse after the yellow card. Burt Copelin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Aron Vickery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
