Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gregory Blagburn kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Elwood's goal looked a bit too open when Randle Vaughan came free, but Barnard Orr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cliff Oreilly blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ellis Malacarne having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Blagburn in the 5th minute of play forced Finley's goalkeeper Ellis Malacarne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Gregory Blagburn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elwood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregory Blagburn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexander Quelch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barnard Orr having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Randle Vaughan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barnard Orr was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cliff Oreilly's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Ellis Malacarne skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 29th match minute, Finley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randle Vaughan to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Finley's Nathaniel Gissane got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Elwood's Stephan Hitchen tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Randle Vaughan during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Randle Vaughan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregory Blagburn struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ellis Malacarne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elwood. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ren Plummer during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ren Plummer kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Ellis Malacarne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregory Blagburn's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute, Stephan Hitchen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Alexander Quelch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnard Orr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot by Darren Barclay from long distance, 41 minutes into the match, got Ellis Malacarne's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cliff Oreilly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ellis Malacarne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ellis Malacarne stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregory Blagburn's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Gregory Blagburn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elwood's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregory Blagburn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ellis Malacarne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
In the 56th minute, Lawrance Virgin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barnard Orr made an important save on a dangerous shot by Burtt Quelch in the 58th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexander Quelch in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Barnard Orr saved Elwood from getting behind. With a little luck, Elwood's Barnard Orr got control of the ball when Burtt Quelch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ellis Malacarne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cliff Oreilly in the 75th minute of play. Finley's Alexander Quelch got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barnard Orr made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Burtt Quelch sent off a good shot on target. Cliff Oreilly received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ellis Malacarne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ellis Malacarne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cliff Oreilly in the 89th minute of play. Gregory Blagburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ellis Malacarne having to interfere.
