After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Payne Bohn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Runnymede's supporters rose to their feet, but Payne Bohn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brookes Lawson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute Edmund Hanslow suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. A collision led to Runnymede getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Bleyd Tupman hit a great ball. Bart Bostock struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Brookes Lawson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Runnymede. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of Runnymede:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Moonijin:s goal. After 15 minutes of play, Moonijin's Rusty Mcenally made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bo Allen was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute, Biddle Dowling made a precise shot to the right of Brookes Lawson. Moonijin's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. With a little luck, Runnymede's Bo Allen got control of the ball when Aaron Behla tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Payne Bohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Payne Bohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brookes Lawson having to interfere. Bart Bostock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lance Cubitt's late challenge caught a Moonijin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lance Cubitt helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Runnymede's Lance Cubitt got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Moonijin's Archie Bailey broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Payne Bohn got free with Brookes Lawson in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moonijin's Brookes Lawson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Bostock in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Moonijin's Archie Bailey broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
