Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Adolph Walsh made the kick off which started today's match. Adam Behla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clarke Weller having to interfere. Clarke Weller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Behla in the 7th minute of the match. Sladevale's Adolph Walsh got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar Burtt hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Meyer Porteus's late challenge caught a Geelong 1980's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Meyer Porteus helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Sladevale was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Meyer Porteus to maneuver through the defense. Adam Behla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Clarke Weller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Behla in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clarke Weller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geelong 1980's Darian Travers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolph Walsh in the 21st minute of play. The Sladevale fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Sladevale's Keith Ryan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Keith Ryan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sladevale's supporters rose to their feet, but Keith Ryan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darian Travers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgar Burtt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 35thth minute of the game Adam Behla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sladevale's Clarke Weller was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geelong 1980's Adam Behla got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keith Ryan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Darian Travers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolph Walsh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When Paco Gaines fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geelong 1980's protests and gave Paco Gaines a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Geelong 1980 got a freekick which was hit by Paco Gaines. When Sladevale's Adolph Walsh in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Geelong 1980's goalie prevented a goal. Chuck Crapp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Sladevale booed when Geelong 1980 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Behla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sladevale's Clarke Weller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Behla in the 67th minute of play. Adolph Walsh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Darian Travers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Keith Ryan came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Sladevale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith Ryan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Geelong 1980 getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Dugald Hollingworth hit a great ball. Sladevale's Clarke Weller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Sladevale from getting a goal against them. In the 77th minute, Adam Behla reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clarke Weller. The goal made the score 1-1. When Keith Ryan came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Sladevale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keith Ryan couldn't finish the play. Darian Travers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolph Walsh in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes in the game, Keith Ryan dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Behla in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clarke Weller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darian Travers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolph Walsh, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Andrews Allan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Clarke Weller made a huge save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
