The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Waroula got a freekick which was hit by Arty Weeks. After 5 played minutes Waroula got a freekick which was hit by Arty Weeks. 6 minutes into the match, Kotara's Bartholemew Tisdell broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 9 minutes into the match, Waroula's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Ross came free, but Clay Hines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clay Hines made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nilson Ross in the 14th minute of play. Gregg Potter made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Danton Cordrey sent off a good shot on target. Danton Cordrey in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gregg Potter, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 24th minute Bruno Monck collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. After 24 minutes, Luke Groves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kotara and the Waroula players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luke Groves hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Jasmine Phasey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregg Potter having to interfere. Gregg Potter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danton Cordrey in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Jasmine Phasey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clay Hines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobs Stageman, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Nilson Ross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danton Cordrey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nilson Ross was the one to do the kick off. Danton Cordrey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregg Potter having to interfere. Jacobs Stageman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacobs Stageman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clay Hines having to interfere. Nilson Ross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waroula's Clay Hines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Ross in the 61st minute of play. Jacob Isaac kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th match minute, Kotara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Ross to maneuver through the defense. Nilson Ross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clay Hines was a little too slow when Nilson Ross got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 1-1. If Danton Cordrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Nilson Ross got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nilson Ross received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Clay Hines came out and tried to block the shot, but Nilson Ross slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 87th minute. If Jacobs Stageman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jacobs Stageman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kotara eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
