Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrew Sayner got free with Thomas Huther in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Barney Bostock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 6 minutes, Andrew Sayner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomersal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew Sayner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Best Wal's late challenge caught a Gomersal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Best Wal helped the player get up and apologised. Best Wal hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Brendon Groves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gooloongolok booed when Gomersal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bud Telfer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Buchanan Jackson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brook Beattie in the 20th minute of play. Gooloongolok's Brook Beattie got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brook Beattie was the one to do the kick off. Andrew Sayner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buchanan Jackson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brendon Groves in the 56th minute. Brendon Groves was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 58th minute. Gooloongolok's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 59th minute, Brook Beattie fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Buchanan Jackson, passed just outside the right post. Brendon Groves struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Buchanan Jackson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gooloongolok. In the 63rd minute Barney Bostock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Huther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrew Sayner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Thomas Huther tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barney Bostock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bo Jackson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Barney Bostock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomersal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barney Bostock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Brook Beattie fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Buchanan Jackson, passed just outside the right post. In the 81st minute, Best Wal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Barney Bostock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Huther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernest Natt kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gomersal's Buchanan Jackson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brook Beattie in the 89th minute of play. Bud Telfer hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Brook Beattie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Buchanan Jackson. The goal made the score 0-1. The Gomersal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gooloongolok's performance. The match ended with a win for Gooloongolok.
