Christopher Brennand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Brotherton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bryan Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Morea's zone, Alford Rann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Brennand came out of the goal and Alford Rann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waaia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rodd Hayward 8 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Alford Rann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Alford Rann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Morea's Christopher Brennand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alford Rann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Brennand having to interfere. Bryan Brotherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Christopher Brennand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christopher Brennand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Brotherton in the 22nd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Waaia's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Quinane came free, but Earle Rhoades reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Alex Quinane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Earle Rhoades saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biddle Rhodes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Earle Rhoades made a huge save. Earle Rhoades took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Quinane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waaia's Earle Rhoades played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Quinane in the 41st minute of play. When Bryan Brotherton came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Waaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bryan Brotherton couldn't finish the play. Christopher Brennand came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Waaia's Bryan Brotherton. But to his dismay, Bryan Brotherton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Bryan Brotherton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Quinane scored 2-1 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Earle Rhoades, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Christopher Brennand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bryan Brotherton in the 64th minute. In the 83rd minute Alex Quinane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Earle Rhoades saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Brotherton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Neil Bunworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neville Oneill's late challenge caught a Waaia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neville Oneill helped the player get up and apologised. When Bryan Brotherton came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Waaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bryan Brotherton couldn't finish the play. Alford Rann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher Brennand having to interfere. In the 98th minute, Alford Rann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Morea players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
