Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carleton Christian took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Carleton Christian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Coleraine! Alberto Curtis walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The supporters of Greenough booed when Coleraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neale Connell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greenough's Samuel Sayner got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neale Connell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Cole Solomon made a huge save. Darin Osbiston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthony Kirkham having to interfere. Neale Connell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Cole Solomon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neale Connell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cole Solomon having to make a save. Anthony Kirkham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Sayner, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Sayner in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anthony Kirkham prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute, Carleton Christian got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Darin Osbiston's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anthony Kirkham was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Darin Osbiston sped through Coleraine's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anthony Kirkham. In the 47th minute of the match Greenough got a corner. Coleraine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alberto Curtis ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Samuel Sayner drilling the ball in to score 1-2 behind Coleraine's goalkeeper. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuel Sayner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Greenough's zone, Carleton Christian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cole Solomon came out of the goal and Carleton Christian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Darin Osbiston came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Greenough fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darin Osbiston couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Coleraine getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Tony Anderson hit a great ball. Coleraine's Carleton Christian got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Neale Connell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coleraine fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Greenough players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Coleraine.
