But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brook Tisdell couldn't finish the play. Byrne Coleman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. John Cootes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ray Obree struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Lance Johnston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Foxdale. Lance Johnston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Obree in the 24th minute of play. If Ray Obree had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Foxdale a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Herman Awege, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sydney SOKYO FC's Lance Johnston. 0-1. After 36 played minutes, Foxdale's Darian Wayland shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lance Johnston came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Foxdale reached it. Lance Johnston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ray Obree, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isaac Jakobsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isaac Jakobsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Lance Johnston showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ray Obree, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Obree in the 82nd minute of play forced Sydney SOKYO FC's goalkeeper Lance Johnston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lance Johnston stood somewhat misplaced when Brook Tisdell came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 83 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brook Tisdell got free with Lance Johnston in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute of the match Herman Awege shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lance Johnston showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ray Obree in the 95th minute of play forced Sydney SOKYO FC's goalkeeper Lance Johnston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Foxdale's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Jakobsson came free, but John Cootes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Foxdale could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sydney SOKYO FC throughout the match.
