The crowd rose to their feet as Lidsdale's Billy Boston slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clifford Terris. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. Carlos Goodwin scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Neale Carlisle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 31 minutes, Davey Plank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lidsdale and the Rangal players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lidsdale getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Davey Plank hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Ethan Gruer made a precise shot to the right of Neale Carlisle. Lidsdale's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Billy Boston struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Clifford Terris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lidsdale.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billy Boston made a kick off. Clifford Terris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Will in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lidsdale's zone, Ethan Gruer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Neale Carlisle came out of the goal and Ethan Gruer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Ethan Gruer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Lidsdale's goal looked a bit too open when Carmichael Warhurst came free, but Neale Carlisle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rangal's zone, Bart Will stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clifford Terris came out of the goal and Bart Will tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Billy Boston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clifford Terris having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Lidsdale's Billy Boston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clifford Terris narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clifford Terris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Will, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. With an all-out effort, Rangal's Neale Carlisle threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ethan Gruer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Rangal's zone, Bart Will stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clifford Terris came out of the goal and Bart Will tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Billy Boston came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Lidsdale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Billy Boston couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lidsdale booed when Rangal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Goodwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clifford Terris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bart Will in the 92nd minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rangal walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
