Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Otto Jobson took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bill Triplett got free with Jarrett Connolly in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes in the game, Neil Hoey dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Phillip Boyce kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When Otto Jobson came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the NSW Fighters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otto Jobson couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes Neil Hoey rounded NSW Fighters's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After 20 played minutes Wapengo got a freekick which was hit by Phillip Boyce. If Bill Triplett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neil Hoey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jarrett Connolly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, NSW Fighters's Carlos Watts got a free kick in the 24th minute. Wapengo's Neil Hoey got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otto Jobson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Crawford Galvin having to interfere. Marco Paull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Crawford Galvin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bill Triplett charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bill Triplett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes Wapengo got a freekick which was hit by Bill Triplett. Blade Macinnes kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Jarrett Connolly was a little too slow when Neil Hoey got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-0. Jagger Reichelt charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jagger Reichelt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Crawford Galvin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Paull in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Neil Hoey to make the kick off. After having played for 60 minutes, Blade Macinnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NSW Fighters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blade Macinnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Bill Triplett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Paull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Neil Hoey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Connolly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bill Triplett scored 3-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarrett Connolly, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 77 minutes of play Wapengo's Bill Triplett was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of NSW Fighters booed when Wapengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bill Triplett didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Carlos Watts fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NSW Fighters's protests and gave Carlos Watts a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Watts hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Jarrett Connolly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jagger Reichelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NSW Fighters's Jarrett Connolly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Hoey in the 87th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in NSW Fighters's zone, Jagger Reichelt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrett Connolly came out of the goal and Jagger Reichelt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neil Hoey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Jarrett Connolly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Brice Fraser managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wapengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Brice Fraser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarrett Connolly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neil Hoey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
