In the 4th minute, Dale Butterworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Otto Perrett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Otto Perrett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlisle Baxter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otto Perrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Darin Howarth took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Carlisle Baxter to make any attempt to save it. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United's goalkeeper Bradley Huff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Darin Howarth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Darin Howarth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlisle Baxter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Arnie Walkington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Manchester United's Norm Reilly tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Martyon Palmington took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bradley Huff. Bradley Huff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 33 minutes into the game, Stan Stevens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pembroke FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Pembroke FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stan Stevens to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Darin Howarth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlisle Baxter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Corey Mcvey. In the 38th minute of the match Larry Solomon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bradley Huff skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Manchester United defense, Stan Stevens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bradley Huff. The Manchester United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bradley Huff should have stopped the shot. Carlisle Baxter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darin Howarth in the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Stan Stevens made the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes, Pembroke FC's Jeffray Diefenbach shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bradley Huff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pembroke FC reached it. When Davey Pywell fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Davey Pywell a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pembroke FC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davey Pywell didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pembroke FC's Larry Solomon tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Stan Stevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Bradley Huff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bradley Huff made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martyon Palmington in the 69th minute. Davey Pywell got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Pembroke FC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davey Pywell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Pembroke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Perrett came free, but Carlisle Baxter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Pembroke FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nichol Trenoweth to maneuver through the defense. Manchester United's Bradley Huff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Stevens in the 81st minute of play. Pembroke FC's Martyon Palmington got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bradley Huff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stan Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darin Howarth's late challenge caught a Pembroke FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Darin Howarth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darin Howarth to maneuver through the defense. If Stan Stevens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bjorn Black kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Stan Stevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Bradley Huff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otto Perrett struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Carlisle Baxter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
