Minmindie
Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28,
Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Nick Turnor started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd match minute, Excelsior FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humphrey Slattery to maneuver through the defense. Jacob Ceney stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berne Hanlen's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Minmindie's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Turnor came free, but Case Trezise reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Abbott Inwood was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minmindie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Excelsior FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Minmindie:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Excelsior FC:s goal. The referee gave Excelsior FC a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Roger Wood, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Minmindie's Case Trezise. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Minmindie's Berne Hanlen got a free kick in the 12th minute. Brad Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Brad Curtis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minmindie's supporters rose to their feet, but Brad Curtis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacob Ceney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacob Ceney stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berne Hanlen's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brad Curtis in the 25th minute of play forced Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Jacob Ceney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Porter Mills shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Case Trezise saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Case Trezise showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Turnor in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the game, one of Minmindie:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Case Trezise had in the 32ndth minute some difficulties stopping Roger Wood's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The excitement rose when Excelsior FC's Roger Wood after 32 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Minmindie's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-3. When Russell Flesfader fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minmindie's protests and gave Russell Flesfader a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Minmindie got a freekick which was hit by Russell Flesfader. Excelsior FC's Porter Mills managed to work through Minmindie's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Porter Mills dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Brad Curtis took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacob Ceney. Jacob Ceney dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berne Hanlen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Humphrey Slattery. Nathan Stockwin charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nathan Stockwin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berne Hanlen in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Ceney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bleyd Mcjunkins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacob Ceney. Excelsior FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 64 minutes, Humphrey Slattery mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Excelsior FC and the Minmindie players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 played minutes Excelsior FC got a freekick which was hit by Humphrey Slattery. When Barry Everett fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Excelsior FC's protests and gave Barry Everett a yellow card for diving instead. Barry Everett kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Ceney having to interfere. When Barry Everett was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. The supporters of Minmindie booed when Excelsior FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Everett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Russell Flesfader received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Jacob Ceney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Excelsior FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Amos Sibbold hit a great ball. When Berne Hanlen came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Minmindie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berne Hanlen couldn't finish the play. When Minmindie's Brad Curtis in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Excelsior FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Jacob Ceney, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berne Hanlen in the 91st minute of play forced Excelsior FC's goalkeeper Jacob Ceney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes, Amos Sibbold mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Excelsior FC and the Minmindie players grew even worse after the yellow card. Amos Sibbold hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Berne Hanlen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jacob Ceney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 minutes, Brad Curtis made it 3-3 with a short kick to the right side. Excelsior FC's Jacob Ceney tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Minmindie players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
