Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Minmindie's Berne Hanlen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes, Nick Fitzsimmons mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grove and the Minmindie players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nick Fitzsimmons kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Rolando Jobson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Minmindie's Berke Babbage got a free kick in the 10th minute. Phillip Sobezak's late challenge caught a Minmindie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phillip Sobezak helped the player get up and apologised. Berne Hanlen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Gorham having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rich Allen was the one to do the kick off. Martin Gorham made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Jonathan Matthes sent off a good shot on target. Brad Curtis might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Gorham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grove's Martin Gorham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brad Curtis in the 76th minute of play. In the 81st minute of the match Minmindie got a corner. Grove's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Berke Babbage ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 95th minute, Cullen Worsley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
