Charles Fordham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everitt Flesfader, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Bernie Borserio's late challenge caught a Winterbourne's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernie Borserio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Liverpool United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Bernie Borserio hit a great ball. If Bo Norman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35thth minute of the game Benedict Addison who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liverpool United's Byron Kile was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Everitt Flesfader blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Charles Fordham having to make a save. Winterbourne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool United the free kick. A collision led to Winterbourne getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Everitt Flesfader was the one to do the kick off. Winterbourne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benedict Addison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 65th minute of the match Bernie Borserio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bernie Borserio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bernie Borserio hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After having played for 66 minutes, Benedict Addison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Charles Fordham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Everitt Flesfader's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Damon Spurr kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Everitt Flesfader shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Fordham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles Fordham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Winterbourne's zone, Everitt Flesfader stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Fordham came out of the goal and Everitt Flesfader tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bray Snabl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Charles Fordham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Reiter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Charles Fordham made a huge save. Charles Fordham made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Roger Reiter sent off a good shot on target. Liverpool United's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Winterbourne had won, even though Liverpool United had held more of the ball.
