After a defensive mix-up in Central City Stars's zone, Herbert Reiter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Preston Monck came out of the goal and Herbert Reiter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Panthers's Ned Stevens got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the last second Preston Monck throw himself and got hold of the ball when Justin Mosley in the 27thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Conner Atterton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyce Grandison in the 28th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Russell Byrnes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Conner Atterton was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The supporters of Central City Stars booed when Panthers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reginald Knevett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Central City Stars's Russell Byrnes got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Panthers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Central City Stars were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
