Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Chuck Oconnell took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd match minute, Mullumbimby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Woods to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mullumbimby fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Neil Tout went to the wrong direction when Kyle Allcock was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. HC Kings's Jenkins Busst got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chuck Oconnell took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Neil Tout. Neil Tout dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Neil Tout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chuck Oconnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute, David Hoey fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Rufus Mapps kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Kale Wilde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brant Newton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, HC Kings's goal looked a bit too open when Brant Newton came free, but Kale Wilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. HC Kings's Kale Wilde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save HC Kings from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Mullumbimby's Kale Wilde threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Brant Newton, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 42 minutes into the match, Mullumbimby's goal looked a bit too open when Chuck Oconnell came free, but Neil Tout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brant Newton had several of the HC Kings's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 46 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Kale Wilde as he didn't even see the shot coming. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Dane Day fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil Tout having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, HC Kings's goal looked a bit too open when David Hoey came free, but Kale Wilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute David Hoey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kale Wilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jenkins Busst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 68 played minutes, HC Kings's Edmund Ancell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Neil Tout came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in HC Kings reached it. Brant Newton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabrizio Hanslow's late challenge caught a Mullumbimby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabrizio Hanslow helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, one of HC Kings:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for HC Kings. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Hoey in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kale Wilde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. David Hoey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brant Newton scored 3-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kale Wilde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 98 minutes, Drew Woodbridge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mullumbimby and the HC Kings players grew even worse after the yellow card. Drew Woodbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. Jenkins Busst could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 100th minute of the match, but Neil Tout made a huge save. HC Kings's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
