In the 10th minute, Darley Woods got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quincy Fitzsimmons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Art Surman having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Pensioners 2.0's goalkeeper Davey Curtis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Kile. After 15 played minutes Pensioners 2.0 got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Norden. Davey Curtis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Tauschke, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's Fabian Beverley got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Darley Woods sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Pensioners 2.0's zone, Dario Kile stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davey Curtis came out of the goal and Dario Kile tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Art Surman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quincy Fitzsimmons's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Robert Tauschke kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Davey Curtis. That made the score 1-1 in the 35 minute of play. Norm Willis hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute, Robert Tauschke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's zone, Quincy Fitzsimmons stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Art Surman came out of the goal and Quincy Fitzsimmons tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Quincy Fitzsimmons was the one to do the kick off. Darley Woodss short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Art Surman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Davey Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Kile in the 56th minute of play. Dario Kile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davey Curtis having to interfere. Pensioners 2.0's Davey Curtis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Tauschke in the 67th minute of play. After 68th play minutes Quincy Fitzsimmons shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Art Surman and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 72ndth minute of the game Quincy Fitzsimmons who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's Art Surman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, Robert Tauschke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shenhua FC - Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Tauschke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 75 played minutes Pensioners 2.0 got a freekick which was hit by Bickford Grandison. Quincy Fitzsimmons blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Art Surman having to make a save. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of Shenhua FC - Real Madrid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pensioners 2.0:s goal. Davey Curtis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dario Kile's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. Pensioners 2.0's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
