Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Arthur Heberle got the match started through his kick off. Murdock Fallen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruce Chapman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, Kurrara's Barry Keayes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruce Chapman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Luke Brophy struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Bishop Clark didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nile. When Ralph Alwege fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kurrara's protests and gave Ralph Alwege a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Jonty Hamilton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Nile's goalkeeper Bruce Chapman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bickford Vaughan. The crowd rose to their feet as Barry Keayes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruce Chapman. That made the score 2-1 in the 22 minute of play. Nile's Bruce Chapman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Nile from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the match, Nile's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Keayes came free, but Bruce Chapman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Barnabas Watts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kurrara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nile the free kick. After 33 minutes Kurrara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jeffray Beer who took care of the corner kick. Bruce Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Keayes, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Bickford Vaughan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Bruce Chapman made a huge save. Murdock Fallen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bruce Chapman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Chapman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Keayes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Bickford Vaughan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bruce Chapman. The goal made the score 3-1. Bruce Chapman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Keayes in the 46th minute of the match. Bruce Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Keayes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barry Keayes to make the kick off. Kurrara's Bishop Clark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Heberle in the 52nd minute of play. Bruce Chapman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Keayes in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bickford Vaughan in the 55th minute of play forced Nile's goalkeeper Bruce Chapman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Nile's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Keayes came free, but Bruce Chapman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Arthur Heberle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 65th match minute, Nile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Dollimore to maneuver through the defense. Nile's Bruce Chapman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnabas Watts in the 66th minute of play. Bruce Chapman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murdock Fallen in the 70th minute of play. Bruce Chapman came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Kurrara's Nicholas Gruer. But to his dismay, Nicholas Gruer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 74th match minute, Kurrara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Gruer to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Heberle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruce Chapman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bickford Vaughan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 87 played minutes Kurrara got a freekick which was hit by Bishop Erwin. Nile's Jonty Hamilton got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Kurrara's goalkeeper Bishop Clark had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luke Brophy. Bruce Chapman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry Keayes in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 minutes, Bickford Vaughan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kurrara and the Nile players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Kurrara getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Bickford Vaughan hit a great ball. Nile's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
