The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Bran Spurr managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Clovass's Matthews Block fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Clovass defense, Fleming Mapps kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eavan Deal. The Clovass fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eavan Deal should have stopped the shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wellard fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! Edmund Dollimore placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The audience was convinced that Justin Mills's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eavan Deal was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. In the 28th minute, Murphy Kuskopf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Matthews Block managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clovass's supporters rose to their feet, but Matthews Block was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bran Spurr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Matthews Block came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Clovass fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthews Block couldn't finish the play. When Clovass's Murphy Kuskopf in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wellard's goalie prevented a goal. In the 45th minute, Clovass's Murphy Kuskopf ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bran Spurr. Bran Spurr yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ryan Shearn's late challenge caught a Wellard's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryan Shearn helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Clovass got a freekick which was hit by Ryan Shearn. Eavan Deal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Curtis, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Ivan Locke fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clovass's protests and gave Ivan Locke a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Ivan Locke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute of the match Lance Tencer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eavan Deal skillfully saved the ball. When Bryanne Czaczka fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wellard's protests and gave Bryanne Czaczka a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clovass booed when Wellard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryanne Czaczka didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Wellard getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Stewart Curtis hit a great ball. Bran Spurr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murphy Kuskopf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Benny Devere was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clovass's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wellard the free kick. The supporters of Wellard booed when Clovass was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Devere didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute of the match Benny Devere shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bran Spurr showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
