Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Flinders's Eavan Missen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lucas Boylin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brynn Staggard having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Flinders's zone, Preston Mudie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brynn Staggard came out of the goal and Preston Mudie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Bringelly getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cullen Skittrall hit a great ball. In the 10th minute, Everitt Goodward sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bringelly's Burtt Mcquoid didn't even have to move. In the 19th minute Casper Obree shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burtt Mcquoid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brynn Staggard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eavan Odonahoo in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to Flinders getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Darin Turnor hit a great ball. Brynn Staggard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cullen Skittrall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Eavan Odonahoo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bringelly's supporters rose to their feet, but Eavan Odonahoo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brynn Staggard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eavan Missen in the 33rd minute of play forced Bringelly's goalkeeper Burtt Mcquoid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davey Haslem could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Burtt Mcquoid made a huge save. After 39 minutes, Edmundson Goodwin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flinders and the Bringelly players grew even worse after the yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Preston Mudie to make the kick off. When Davey Haslem came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Flinders fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davey Haslem couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute, Bringelly's Preston Mudie dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Cullen Skittrall charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cullen Skittrall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Bringelly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cullen Skittrall to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davey Haslem in the 60th minute of play forced Bringelly's goalkeeper Burtt Mcquoid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eavan Missen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Burtt Mcquoid stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Davey Haslem's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 68thth minute of the game Eavan Missen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bringelly's Burtt Mcquoid was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eavan Missen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Burtt Mcquoid tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Flinders booed when Bringelly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cullen Skittrall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davey Haslem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davey Haslem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cullen Skittrall hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Bringelly's Burtt Mcquoid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eavan Missen in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Casper Obree had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Burtt Mcquoid. Bringelly's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Casper Obree was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
