Corey Leydin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jesse Glover made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Neil Gorham sent off a good shot on target. Doyle Thomas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Arnie Howie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnie Howie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damon Laughton in the 17th minute of the match. Neil Gorham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jesse Glover tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neil Gorham might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesse Glover. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Neil Gorham ran back to his position shaking his head. After 39 played minutes Sydney Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Brynn Rummens. 40 minutes into the match, Sydney Rockets's goal looked a bit too open when Damon Laughton came free, but Arnie Howie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nathaniel Gruer hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Roger Connell, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corey Leydin in the 47th minute of play forced The comeback kids's goalkeeper Jesse Glover to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Corey Leydin made a kick off. Corey Leydin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Neil Gorham put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jesse Glover. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corey Leydin during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60thth minute of the game Damon Laughton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sydney Rockets's Arnie Howie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Doyle Thomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnie Howie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damon Laughton in the 72nd minute. With a little luck, Sydney Rockets's Arnie Howie got control of the ball when Doyle Thomas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Damon Laughton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnie Howie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Laughton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doyle Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 94 minutes into the match, The comeback kids's Damon Laughton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnie Howie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sydney Rockets fans cheered their team off the field, for while The comeback kids had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
