Doyle Newton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doyle Thomas in the 9th minute. The comeback kids's Jesse Glover played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Soekirno in the 12th minute of play. Belton Heberle hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Michael Soekirno might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesse Glover. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michael Soekirno ran back to his position shaking his head. After 20 minutes of play, Ellam's Larry Crampton made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesse Glover was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Larry Crampton in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesse Glover saved The comeback kids from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, The comeback kids's goal looked a bit too open when Larry Crampton came free, but Jesse Glover reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 37 minutes, Berny Tinsley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The comeback kids and the Ellam players grew even worse after the yellow card. Berny Tinsley hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The supporters of The comeback kids booed when Ellam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Soekirno didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Michael Soekirno fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Ellam were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Larry Crampton made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in The comeback kids's zone, Michael Soekirno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesse Glover came out of the goal and Michael Soekirno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ellam booed when The comeback kids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ollie Bohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doyle Thomas struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Doyle Newton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The comeback kids. In the 62ndth minute of the game Damon Laughton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ellam's Doyle Newton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Larry Crampton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jesse Glover. That made the score 0-2 in the 70 minute of play. Jesse Glover showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Larry Crampton, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute Larry Crampton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse Glover saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Michael Soekirno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jesse Glover. Michael Soekirno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The comeback kids's Jesse Glover played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Larry Crampton in the 86th minute of play. Jesse Glover showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Crampton in the 89th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Larry Crampton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ellam's supporters rose to their feet, but Larry Crampton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesse Glover breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Doyle Thomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Ellam players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
