The audience thought a goal was coming when Case Waterland got free with Humphry Kuskoff in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bradley Notley struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Emilian Stârcea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wakatu. 20 minutes into the game, Ian Eversden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wakatu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melbourne City 2030 the free kick. Ian Eversden hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute of the game Jenkins Barker made a throw-in which Birrell Wivell played forward. Jonty White kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Melbourne City 2030's Emilian Stârcea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Notley in the 31st minute of play. Melbourne City 2030's Luca Bojincă shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 35th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Humphry Kuskoff but with some difficulty. A hard shot by Neale Foley from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Humphry Kuskoff's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ian Eversden to make the kick off. Case Waterland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Humphry Kuskoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luca Bojincă took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Humphry Kuskoff. Wakatu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wakatu's Humphry Kuskoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neale Foley in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Wakatu getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Berkeley Keayes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Karl Muncaster managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melbourne City 2030's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl Muncaster was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humphry Kuskoff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Roger Laughton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luca Bojincă during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 91 played minutes Melbourne City 2030 got a freekick which was hit by Luca Bojincă. 93 minutes into the match, Wakatu's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Muncaster came free, but Humphry Kuskoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Melbourne City 2030's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
