Silvestre Loramendi came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Silvestre Loramendi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvestre Loramendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Picantes del Norte's Atilano Gaspard got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Loramendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Picantes del Norte's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jairo Pueblo in the 20th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jairo Pueblo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Loramendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvestre Loramendi having to interfere. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvestre Loramendi having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Dráusio Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roth Culek charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roth Culek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Picantes del Norte:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Daniel Zorita shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zrinko Pavković in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Picantes del Norte's Silvestre Loramendi managed to reach the ball for a save. Silvestre Loramendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Silvestre Loramendi made a huge save. Silvestre Loramendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Silvestre Loramendi in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roth Culek kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. With a little luck, Picantes del Norte's Silvestre Loramendi got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
