Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 3 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Cordairo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diego Eterno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. In the 3rd minute, Rodolfo Cordairo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th match minute, Diego Eterno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Bastia to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Casimiro Astrada managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Costa Rica's Axel Tasis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 8 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Casimiro Astrada. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Salamon in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. After 19 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. After 25 minutes, Cristobal Cordero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diego Eterno and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. The long shot by Axel Tasis in the 26th minute really tested Casimiro Astrada's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casimiro Astrada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Diego Eterno's Cristobal Cordero got a free kick in the 34th minute. Casimiro Astrada made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Esteve Mirande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Siro Salamon put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Diego Eterno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Cordero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 52nd play minutes Axel Tasis shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Casimiro Astrada and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Diego Eterno's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casimiro Astrada came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Tasis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With 80 minutes on the clock, Efrain Moruga commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Costa Rica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Diego Eterno:s goal. Aurelio Enol shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Aurelio Enol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diego Eterno's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Enol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Many of Diego Eterno's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Diego Eterno may have spent more time on the ball, but Costa Rica were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
