The audience thought a goal was coming when Edoardo Filippini got free with Rolando Noboa in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Royal PSG made a substitution. Fred Torres replaced Edoardo Filippini. A sloppy throw-in by Christophe Dureuil in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina.
