Alexander Bottone showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 6th minute of play. Axel Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Rotili having to interfere. Edmondo Giorda hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes, Axel Montenegro made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Alexander Bottone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvaro Rotili having to make a save. 18 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Bottone's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Alexander Bottone capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexander Bottone really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Colombia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of A.S. Udinese:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Bottone in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Bottone struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.S. Udinese. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olivér Bierhoff got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Edmondo Giorda. After some careless play in the A.S. Udinese defense, Axel Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Rotili. The A.S. Udinese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Rotili should have stopped the shot. A.S. Udinese's Tom Pervik was substituted for Bruno Maranzano.

The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Axel Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alvaro Rotili. That made the score 3-3 after 53 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Alvaro Rotili in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 67th minute of the match. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 72nd minute of play. If Alexander Bottone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Bottone, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The Colombia fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when Colombia's Axel Montenegro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A.S. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was substituted for Cristiano Paolucci. Ercole Fiorentino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Augusto Clemente ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ignacio Mastache struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Alvaro Rotili didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Augusto Clemente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Ercole Fiorentino made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-4. After 95 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Tafalla.
