Axel Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Heyckendorf having to make a save. Paul Heyckendorf made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Alex Mansilha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Simon Beuke made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Paul Heyckendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 16th minute of play. Paul Heyckendorf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Alex Mansilha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Mansilha in the 24th minute of the match. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paul Heyckendorf, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 45 minutes into the game, Academica Pulheim's Kurt Ahrem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After the first half Academica Pulheim were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. When Axel Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Kretschmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Kurt Ahrem fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academica Pulheim's protests and gave Kurt Ahrem a yellow card for diving instead. Gary Lineker scored 2-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 88th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Ignacio Mastache put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Paul Heyckendorf. Paul Heyckendorf came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Ignacio Mastache. But to his dismay, Ignacio Mastache quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Colombia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
