Gong Ao Guang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 21st match minute, C.A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Goran Lindegger to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaiver Rosende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After having played for 27 minutes, Gong Ao Guang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Peñarol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gong Ao Guang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The wind increased when Gong Ao Guang made the kick off in the second half. Agustín Saelices was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 61st minute of play. Felix Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 63rdth minute tested the skills of Xaiver Rosende when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Felix Montenegro had several of the C.A. Peñarol's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Xaiver Rosende as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Gong Ao Guang managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Peñarol's supporters rose to their feet, but Gong Ao Guang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Gong Ao Guang made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Peñarol from getting a goal against them. Xaiver Rosende was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Agustín Saelices showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 72 minute of play. C.A. Peñarol's Anselmo Velin was substituted for Gong Ao Guang. Anselmo Velin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Xaiver Rosende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peñarol got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jimeno Infante ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Hao Xu Jun got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Velin in the 94th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Xaiver Rosende skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A hard shot 96 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Xaiver Rosende managed to make a qualified save. C.A. Peñarol's players were relieved.
