Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After having played for 56 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th match minute, A.S. Udinese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Falasca to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bottone in the 65th minute of play. Cristiano Paolucci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. In the 76th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geronimo Fe ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Alessio Zoccali managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Ercole Fiorentino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Geronimo Fe was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Udinese's players had a chance to rest. The corner led A.S. Udinese's Geronimo Fe to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Rafael Gallo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 93rd minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
