ALAMBRE de PÚAS's Fausto Bide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced ALAMBRE de PÚAS's goalkeeper Fausto Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. ALAMBRE de PÚAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Fausto Bide despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Bide narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by ALAMBRE de PÚAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 24th minute, Leonardo Peru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-0. Fausto Bide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. Baltasar Felipillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, ALAMBRE de PÚAS's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fausto Bide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fausto Bide quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 41st minute of play forced ALAMBRE de PÚAS's goalkeeper Fausto Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Bide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonardo Peru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ALAMBRE de PÚAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Antonio Arias fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fausto Bide quite easily take care of the ball. Fausto Bide was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Bide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by ALAMBRE de PÚAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Felipillo in the 90th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Bide having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Rogelio Cisco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto Bide was left in no man's land by his defense there! The ALAMBRE de PÚAS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
