Corinthians Paulista's Vito Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 24th minute of play. Gernando Lima hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 29th match minute, Corinthians Paulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Valle to maneuver through the defense. Corinthians Paulista's Mattias Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play. Mattias Casillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, Corinthians Paulista's Dieguinho Marinho made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Illescas during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dieguinho Marinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Gernando Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Andi Abend hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Lima in the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Vito Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Corinthians Paulista's Gernando Lima got a free kick in the 70th minute. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Casillas having to interfere. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieguinho Marinho in the 91st minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Corinthians Paulista.
