The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Inocencio Felipo in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, One Piece FC's Cordeara Sanjuan got a free kick in the 19th minute. Serapio Reigada charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Mexico booed when One Piece FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serapio Reigada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inocencio Felipo made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Inocencio Felipo made a huge save. Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play forced One Piece FC's goalkeeper Inocencio Felipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inocencio Felipo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 69th minute of the match. Serapio Reigada got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 77th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inocencio Felipo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes One Piece FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inocencio Felipo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. In the 93rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inocencio Felipo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inocencio Felipo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 95th minute of play. Mexico's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
