Afşar Uçuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 42nd minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Zach Harrison hit a great ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Tang Yang Le managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tang Yang Le was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herensuge Colomes's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herensuge Colomes helped the player get up and apologised. Herensuge Colomes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tang Yang Le was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 50 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabian Brown hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute of the match Blue Mountain State got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Epigonoi Honjas ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karol Panasewicz in the 56th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karol Panasewicz's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Robin Sharma came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Cassius Byrne. But to his dismay, Cassius Byrne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Blue Mountain State's Hong Shi Wei was substituted for Aykut Aşkın. Blue Mountain State made a substitution. Lionel-Andrés Messi replaced Tang Yang Le. Afşar Uçuk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. After 72 played minutes Blue Mountain State got a freekick which was hit by Rıfat Tanır. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hong Shi Wei's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 81stth minute of the game Lionel-Andrés Messi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 86th minute of play. Luis Vázquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. In the 91st minute of the match Blue Mountain State got a corner. USA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Epigonoi Honjas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Blue Mountain State's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Epigonoi Honjas in the 92nd minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of USA's goalie and right to Afşar Uçuk. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. USA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When the final whistle sounded USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Blue Mountain State.
