A collision led to Sliema Dragons FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ulises Ixidor hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Sliema Dragons FC were awarded a corner. Leszek Cupial went to the cornerflag to take it. After 26 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Demicoli. 27 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Gábor Illés managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sliema Dragons FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gábor Illés was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Kim Bolas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Kim Bolas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Kim Bolas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sliema Dragons FC's Baran Erozan got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40thth minute of the game Kim Bolas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 46 minutes, Kim Bolas made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Mike Axisa made a huge save. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 54th minute. The audience was convinced that Kim Bolas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Sliema Dragons FC made a substitution. Matteo Borda replaced 周斐俊. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sliema Dragons FC were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leszek Cupial took the corner. Mike Axisa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Mike Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Sliema Dragons FC's Mike Axisa got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dejan Cassar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Mike Axisa in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Sliema Dragons FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
