Tiago Gabriel Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 32nd minute of the match Costa Rica got a corner. Canarinho Atordoado's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Tasis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Evaristo Favoretto thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Tiago Gabriel Luz, a very annoying self made goal in the 33rd minute which led to 0-2. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Canarinho Atordoado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Canarinho Atordoado's zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Gabriel Luz came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Axel Tasis came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tiago Gabriel Luz could save by the left post. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 81 minutes, Eliseo Noboa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Canarinho Atordoado players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 90th minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 minutes Canarinho Atordoado's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Tasis who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Costa Rica's corner Axel Tasis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tiago Gabriel Luz quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 94th minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Costa Rica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Costa Rica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
