In the 14th minute, Aristides Castel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Cordearo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. With a little luck, SAN LORENZO FC's Natalio Mitxaut got control of the ball when Christian Carioca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Osmar de Moraes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natalio Mitxaut having to make a save. After 35 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Castel. Edgard Cabral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Natalio Mitxaut skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edgard Cabral helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laércio de Souza to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Natalio Mitxaut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natalio Mitxaut narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Benigno Ixona in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SAN LORENZO FC's Justino Quinito. In the 65th minute Osmar de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Mitxaut saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Ruperto Erlantz replaced Justino Quinito. 70 minutes into the game, Jorge Rinaldi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Goiás Esporte Clube's Laércio de Souza quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 71 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Christian Carioca. Amílton do Nascimento hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Edgard Cabral took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natalio Mitxaut. Natalio Mitxaut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osmar de Moraes in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Natalio Mitxaut prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Carioca came free, but Natalio Mitxaut reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Edgard Cabral almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SAN LORENZO FC's Natalio Mitxaut did a great save. Edgard Cabral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natalio Mitxaut having to make a save. Natalio Mitxaut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
